Twinkle
Twinkle Little Star Daughters
of Kali #3 oil on masonite, 60x40 inches | The
teenage girl walking down the street offering herself for a small fee startled
me. I was confronted by her sensuality, and the pain and weight behind her reluctant
smile that caught me in a whirlpool of internal conflicts, in which my sexual
instinct clashed with my moral responsibility, and my conscience was torn apart.
For she was just a child who has lost her way, and claimed by the beasts among
us. Regrettably due to my limitations I can offer her no genuine helping hands,
other than instilling my horror and despair on this panel, one layer overlaid
another, painting, rubbing and scratching on the surface till I surrendered to
my heart's defeat.
